Location: Wabamun, AB

QMLP was selected to assist the client in completing a portion of the final decommissioning of a power plant located in central Alberta.

The scope of work included the following:

• Using in house expertise and knowledge, QMLP was able to provide our client with several innovative ways to maximize the efficiency of the selected equipment and therefore reduce the overall cost of the project.
• Clearing and grubbing of vegetation, stripping and removal of overburden and the excavation and transport of 490,000 m³ of ash. The successful completion required the work of over 30,000 man hours, during which time, 0 lost time, injuries or accidents were reported.
• Final site work included reclamation activities such as final contouring, spreading of mulch cover material and seeding.
