Crime Scene and Crack House Cleanup

Location: Niagara Falls, ON

QMLP was called to a crime scene to assess and make clean a residential home in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Following a medical call at the home, authorities deemed the residence to be a danger to the public. The home was actively used for illegal drug activity.

The scope of the job included the identification, separation, packaging and disposal of biological, non hazardous refuse and materials related to elicit drug use.

A complete site specific safety plan was implemented and discussed with all workers, with a particular emphasis on blood borne pathogens and proper sharps handling. Specific PPE for potential inhalation of pathogens and for sharp protection was utilized by all workers. Structured decontamination was completed when exiting the property.

Non Hazardous Refuse
o Home furnishings
o Organic waste
o Inorganic waste

The job was completed in 24 hours with all contents removed and sent for proper disposal. All surfaces in the home were decontaminated. A hazard report was completed outlining possible residual hazards in the home (mould, potential energy release).
